Selected parcels of Sangiovese grapes are sourced from select Victorian vineyards, picked when flavour is ripe, then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on oak for approximately six months adding a subtle oak lift to the dense fruit. After gentle fining and filtering it is bottled and ready to go.
Lifted spice and vibrant red fruit aromas dominate the nose. Cherries and plums flesh out a juicy palate with earthy tannins and a lingering finish. Savoury and rustic, this wine needs time to breathe after opening, then drink in the company of family and friends.
This is a perfect accompaniment to many food options. Think slow cooked pork ragu served with fried parcels of gnocchi or wood fired pizza margherita with crispy pancetta and rocket. Our favourite match is juicy homemade beef burgers on toasted ciabatta oozing with melted cheese, crunchy lettuce and chunky tomato salsa while watching Friday night football.
